Events
IL Foster Closet helps foster families through the generosity of our donors with items such as clothing, shoes, books, backpacks, baby gear, and other essentials to help families with kids in care. We are currently operating from a storage unit and distribute goods through appointments where we invite parents to come in and select select items for their families.

Parents only need to show current placement forms to receive assistance. If you are a foster family seeking assistance please use the 'I need assistance' button on Foster Parent Resources tab.

Families are never charged anything. All of the items we give out are sponsored by other organizations and individuals that help to support our goal to assist families with kids in care. We are sincerely grateful for all of of the donations and assistance we receive and in-turn provide to the community.

Our events are designed to obtain donations and funding in order to provide kids with new items and to cover storage fees. Our organization is 100% supported by volunteers.

Arjun's Eagle Scout
Project
In July IL Foster Closet received and extraordinary gift from Arjun Yalamati. Arjun decided for his Eagle Scout Project he would assist IL Foster Closet.

Through his fundraising efforts, amazing leadership and the teamwork of his fellow scouts in Troop #57 We have been blessed to have Arjun pick IL Foster Closet as the focus of his Eagle Scout project. The project was truly a behind-the-scenes effort to help our organizers and volunteers better manage and organize the donations we receive and disperse.
​
We did our best for many years to keep organized, but Arjun's project took us to the next level with new shelving and totes for the closet. We’ll now be able to sort items more efficiently, pull clothing faster, and serve families twice as quickly. The impact of his efforts will be felt every single day.
​
He has demonstrated such incredible leadership, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. He is truly amazing!
