Events
IL Foster Closet helps foster families through the generosity of our donors with items such as clothing, shoes, books, backpacks, baby gear, and other essentials to help families with kids in care. We are currently operating from a storage unit and distribute goods through appointments where we invite parents to come in and select select items for their families.
Parents only need to show current placement forms to receive assistance. If you are a foster family seeking assistance please use the 'I need assistance' button on Foster Parent Resources tab.
Families are never charged anything. All of the items we give out are sponsored by other organizations and individuals that help to support our goal to assist families with kids in care. We are sincerely grateful for all of of the donations and assistance we receive and in-turn provide to the community.
Our events are designed to obtain donations and funding in order to provide kids with new items and to cover storage fees. Our organization is 100% supported by volunteers.

Although Lina is leaving IL Foster Closet we wanted to make sure to acknowledge all of her hard work and dedication with our organization.
Lina has been a part of the foster closet since the very beginning and integral part of board.
As a resource director Lina spent a lot of time receiving donations, sorting through clothing, meeting volunteers at storage unit to organize donations as well as meet up with foster parents during pick-up.
Her commitment to the foster community and IL Foster Closet is not only commendable, but also appreciated by the entire team and all of the families you have helped.
We'll miss you but hope our paths continue to cross in the future.
