Events
IL Foster Closet helps foster families through the generosity of our donors with items such as clothing, shoes, books, backpacks, baby gear, and other essentials to help families with kids in care. We are currently operating from a storage unit and distribute goods through appointments where we invite parents to come in and select select items for their families.

Parents only need to show current placement forms to receive assistance. If you are a foster family seeking assistance please use the 'I need assistance' button on Foster Parent Resources tab.

Families are never charged anything. All of the items we give out are sponsored by other organizations and individuals that help to support our goal to assist families with kids in care. We are sincerely grateful for all of of the donations and assistance we receive and in-turn provide to the community.

Our events are designed to obtain donations and funding in order to provide kids with new items and to cover storage fees. Our organization is 100% supported by volunteers.

We are so thankful for JennieLynn and her dedication and hard work. During May, Foster Care Awareness Month, she partnered with several local companies to raise funds to purchase books for our kids!

At Novaspect, they believe in building a workplace culture that goes beyond meetings and deadlines. It’s about creating moments of fun, connection, and giving back.
While their team enjoyed some laughs and played games such as Nintendo Switch tournaments, Bags, Plinko, Ring Toss, and Mini Basketball - they also came together to support us through fundraising at the event to help foster children get the essentials they need.

Awareness Month
May is Foster Care Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the needs of children and youth in foster care and recognizing the vital contributions of foster parents, caregivers, and other supporters. It's an opportunity to learn about the challenges faced by these children and explore ways to support them and the foster care system.

Arjun's Eagle Project Fundraising
Arjun is working toward becoming an Eagle Scout and has selected IL Foster Closet as his special project. Specifically he plans to help us with storage and organization solutions.
